“My Sister’s Keeper!”

This year 2014, our theme is “My Sister’s Keeper!”  As godly women we strive to obey the Word of God, guiding us in our conduct and how we deal with each other.

God provided his Word to lead us into paths of righteousness.  Violation of His Word means alienation from God and discord among His people.  In our interactions with each other we must be the “Living Word”.  We must portray Jesus’ character and values.  His Word says, “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men (women) unto me… John 12:32.” Does my sister feel closer to God after speaking to me/you?

If we reflect Him and lift Him up in our daily living, others will be drawn unto Him, through us.   We must stop and examine ourselves.  What is in me that deters others from coming to Him?  When I look at me, am I reflection of Him?  Are others drawn to Him, through me?  Is our conversation uplifting, constructive, encouraging.  Does His kingdom progress because of our attitude, and our input?

In dealing with our sister, remember to control our spirit, Proverbs 16:32, and control our tongue, as stated in James 3:2.  We must strive to be virtuous, 2 Peter 1:5-7.  As sisters of the family of God, let us strive for harmony.  It is our Fathers good pleasure to give us the kingdom but we must be worthy of that reward.

Let us seek the Lord, and His righteousness.  Let us be cognizant and endeavor to manifest the Fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23.

Become precious in God’s sight, 1Peter 3:4 …the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price (valuable).

Christ was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet he opened not His mouth: Isaiah 53:7.    Jesus asked that we take His yoke upon us and learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly (humble) in heart:

When Jesus was reviled, He reviled not, when He was suffered, He threatened not…1 Peter 3:23.

Let us strive this year to be unified in spirit and in love, working together for the good of the Kingdom of God.

God bless,

Our Roots

Acts 2:38-39 KJV

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
